What a match for the Spurs. Great confidence booster on the road against a great home squad.

Looked a little sketchy in the middle there but showed great fortitude holding the Swansea pushes off.

Erikson was huge!

3 points baby!

Lol... I still don't understand why people get angry over this. It's a habit for American fans to put "the" infront of the teams they root for. Also, it was "the" Spurs when the team was originally formed.

Bleh....

We were the "better team" (note - in quotes), but in my opinion the better team buries their chances. I said this week, United were the best I've seen at burying the chances they get. It doesn't matter how much possession you get, how many chances you create, if you don't make the other team pay then you're spouting smoke. That's what happened today.

Fair play, United deserved this one. Offsides or not, they still erased all of those arguments by making us pay in more than one situation. We're not good enough and hopefully its sooner than later that the owners realize it.

No, it definitely wasn't.

This is so wrong. People who want to use "the" can call them "the Lillywhites" but not anything else.

Burden of proof is on you, my man. And I'm positive you won't find anything legitimate.

I know you're embarrassed. And its ok to admit you're wrong.

It's not "the Spurs" just like it isn't "the City," "the Palace," "the United," "the Pool," etc... Spurs is a truncated form of the club name. It's not a mascot/nickname. "The Lillywhites," "the Toffees," "the Baggies" are examples of when one would us "the."

Because you're wrong and you won't admit it. There's nothing at issue when you realize you've fricked up and admit to it. I've done it multiple times.

A cursory research into Yids history will show that they've never referred to themselves as "the Spurs."

There was a thread on this last year on r coys... I'm on my phone and not looking up the links, but there are a few that explains how we were the Spurs for a few years.

No, you weren't. Sitting at Finns with a few Cockneys and no one has ever referred to them as "the Spurs." Nor have I found anything in my past experience, nor recent research referring to them as "the Spurs." Its not the biggest of deals, nor do I care all that much (which is why I'm going to let it rest), but I've never seen anything that refers to the squad as such.

Just my personal opinion, backed up by experience. If you find anything that shows differently i welcome it, especially because I don't give a damn about that club, so whatever its referred to is not a huge deal to me one way or another.
