Ninja skills.

Two episodes in, and it's a solid "meh" for me. I'll give it one more before pulling the plug.

I never watched because I can't stand the actor who plays Nucky. I watched one episode, and it was as bad as I expected. Cillian Murphy is one of the reasons that Peaky Blinders is top notch.

you dont like steve buscemi? that's just crazy. He's awesome as nucky. Nucky just isnt as awesome of a character as tommy.

It's definitely slower paced. Overall its a great show though.

he is absolutely amazing; but, so is everyone else in the show. Literally everyone is amazingly cast and no one gives anything near a poor performance. Arthur especially.

Boardwalk has some amazing cast as well. All the people they got to play real life gansters like Al Capone and Arnold Rothstein are great.

I actually love Steve Buscemi for comedic roles. I just really don't like him in that role. Maybe it could grow on me. I will have to watch the show eventually.

The Peaky blinders kid can't sit though an episode of boardwalk. Color me shocked.

Back on topic, finished Season 1 of Marco Polo last night.

what did you think? I'm through two episodes, seems interesting enough. Is it worth finishing out?

On episode 4 now. Benedict Wong is great as Kublai Khan. He is basically unrecognizable.

Finished it, and really enjoyed it. I honestly didn't think I would get into it when I first started watching (this is not my typical genre of show), but I thought it was really well done.

I would definitely finish it out. I'm not a big fan but it's certainly worth watching once to decide for yourself. I was hoping for more of a period piece than the unrealistic Crouching Tiger/Matrix/flying-through-the-air-kung-fu stuff but I still enjoyed it. There are some trippy scenes, beautiful landscapes, beautiful girls, and cool history involved. I may be biased as I've been fascinated by Mongolia for the past year and will be traveling there in 2015. My biggest gripe (spoilers) are the accents and the unrealistic scenes where naked broads kill a bunch of soldiers or where a tiny little chancellor kills the army's strongest warrior, etc.

That being said, finish it. You may love it.

I just finished the season. Great show.

You wanna know how I know I am a racist? It took me about 4-5 episodes before I could tell all the Chinese women apart.

Seriously it was hard there for a while. Every scene with women I was trying to figure our who the were.

I did like the fact that they didn't even try to deal with the language barrier- frick it everyone speaks English. Well done.

So far, this has been pretty minimal in the show. There are obviously scenes (as you have alluded to in your post) that have that "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight" sort of feel, but I think it's pretty well grounded otherwise.

This was a pretty big gamble, in my opinion, by the directors because one of the reasons the Matrix and Crouching Tiger/House of Flying Daggers/etc. works is because the over the top fighting is ingrained in the film. Everyone and everything fights on wires. Not really the case here, which has some borderline ridiculous scenes but I haven't seen anyone flying around on rooftops or jumping from bamboo cane to bamboo cane. Yet.
