The odds of Peterson making the Olympics are zilch, but that would be so badass if he ran the 200 or 400 for the US. He has that kind of speed, but Olympians are incredible.

Peterson said executive vice president Troy Vincent told him in a face-to-face meeting in early November that he would get a two-game suspension, along with credit for time served, if he attended a meeting in New York with commissioner Roger Goodell. Peterson eventually chose not to attend the meeting, he said, when the league would not provide details on the nature and scope of it. The league then suspended him for the rest of the season Nov. 18.

He probably should've attended that meeting.

With the direction that football is headed, Peterson could very well be the last GREAT back. He will be missed.

You can disagree, but running backs are a dime a dozen now a days. Kids know that RB is not the position to play if you want money. Play WR, QB, DE. Don't be a RB.

He's full of shut and just talking out his arse. He has too many kids and there's over ten million reasons why there's a zero percent chance he retires. He's just being a sour grape right now.

I understand. But to say that he may be the LAST great back is naive. There will be other studs. They may not come as frequently but they won't be gone forever.

I just knew that someone would misunderstand what I said. By that kind of speed, I mean he is the type of guy who would do best in the 200/400 compared to the 100, 800, mile, etc. He obviously isn't that fast, especially since he has not trained his body his entire life to run that way.

I don't really give a shite about either one but Ray Rice shouldn't have been reinstated before Peterson.

He missed most of the season up to that point and went through the justice system and wasn't disciplined. But Goddell of all people is supposed to be someone to jump when he says jump all of a sudden?

frick goddell, AP seems like a good guy who wen a bit overboard but did everything he could to make things right.

I hope he enjoys the rest of the year off in riches and luxury, rest up and get ready to shine next year. :btw frick goodell, he's a cancer to the NFL.
