heading to some public land to ask out a spot for tomorrow morning, was planning on bringing my 3030 in case I run across any hogs.however rifle season is closed it is only primitive, will I get a ticket if they check me at the launch or way in station?

How can you get a ticket for just carrying a firearm? So if im walking around in june and carry a .30-30 for protection from dogs, hogs and 2 legged predators they gonna ticket me?

If its legal to hunt hogs then you say that. I guess if you dont want to chance it then dont bring it but i surely would have it.

You can't hunt hogs with a rifle during primitive season. They're not dumb.

Nah, but if you do during deer season when it's not rifle, they probably will

Page 65 of the hunting regulations: LDWF Hunting Regs

quote:

Feral hogs may be taken during any legal hunting season on WMAs by properly licensed and/or permitted hunters bearing a license and gear legal for specified seasons in progress

It says you can carry a centerfire pistol also, but I would probably ask GW before I had one with me during bow season.

I missed that part where he said Indian Bayou, but we looked at the regulations the other night at work for another one of the ACoE property and it was nearly identical to WMAs.

Hand gun, yes. Rifle hell no. That is asking for a ticket.

If you're in the woods with a rifle during bow/primitive deer season, they won't buy a "I was just scouting"

Yes, you'll get a ticket. The rules say you can take hogs but only with whatever weapon/ammo is legal for what is in season.

I think you have to have your CC for any pistol that is larger than the caliber in season
