Now what drone should I get? I'm not looking to spend a fortune on one just yet. Want to make sure I actually like it and will use it before I drop some serious coin.

TIA

I would strongly recommend the DJI Phantom 2, it is probably the best starter drone on the market! When it comes to drones you definitely get what you pay for so don't go ultra cheap or you will be looking for a new drone and a new go pro.

If you have any questions shoot me a message and I will do my best, I don't know everything about them but I am pretty knowledgable. If you do decide to go the Phantom route, I'm selling the Phantom setup that we used for all of the LSU aerial work this year so we can upgrade.

Drones for GoPro

I'm thinking about getting that Blade 350QX Phantom has far more battery life but I don't think I need more than 10 min a pop.

You would be surprised how fast ten minutes go by. The phantom is suppose to stay in the air between 15-25 minutes. I have 5 batteries total and almost always use all five when we decide to fly, even for the smallest video shoots.

I think i'm gonna get that Phantom. Looks like a good setup. I like the pre programmable flight path.

Don't forget the gimbal.

I would recommend buying the gimbal that they offer when buying the phantom. It was specifically designed for it and is balanced perfectly for the phantom and a go pro. As far as the preprogrammed flight path that is something that you have to add to it and something I wouldn't recommend. I would look into putting a First Person View system on your phantom in place of that. If you are around Baton Rouge I will be flying pretty frequently around Tiger Stadium and I would be more then happy to give you a demo.
