That's all we need, another guy that won't give the ball to AD.

I would never want Carmelo. Ever.

He's a terrible leader, a team cancer, his knees aren't that great, never plays within a system, hogs the ball, and is a "superstar" currently leading his team to a 4-20 record.

I've never liked him. Ever. I don't want him on the same team as Anthony Davis.

Point taken

(btw I was just joking, maybe we can get in on a 3 team if he jumps ship?)

I literally would not trade anything for Melo. Not even Gordon.

His contract is absurd and I just hate hate hate his game and his attitude. And there's no way he and his wife would be happy here. They want LA or NY.

I'd love to get in on some 3-4 team action where we pick up some other players though.

That's what I mean

Getting someone like hardaway would be great.

That probably wouldn't be enough to get Melo since he's a "star"..

I'm all for getting in on 3-4 team action, but I would not be upset if Melo came to NO.. I think he gets a lot of shite (rightfully so), but I do believe if paired with the right guys he could make a deep run and/or win a championship

He could be the very thing that runs Monty out of town.

Only if they change the rules in the NBA to allow three basketballs on the court at once. Tyreke could have a ball along with Melo. This would leave the third ball to actually play basketball.

I would like it for NOLA If they got rid of the right pieces. He would never come though you're right.

You guys wouldn't trade EG/Reke + Ryno for Melo?

Assuming we re-sign Asik, where would we be salary wise next year if we gave EG and Ryno for Melo?

Jrue, Reke, Melo, AD, Asik

Cunningham
Mekel
Ajinca
FA/Rivers

If we got Melo, I think I'd actually wanna keep EG and send Reke. That's a lot of potential ball hogging. Would be awesome to see that offense with a real coach.

Even better

I'm not saying it'd be a slam dunk and Melo definitely has his flaws but, assuming we got rid of Monty and have room to add some depth (re-sign Cunningham plus some), this team goes from flawed and borderline playoff team to potential serious contender.

Not at the expense of Ryno though. Melo surely will have the same "My wife wants to be on TV" market restriction as before meaning Lakers, Clippers, Nets are the options, which really just means Lakers

Lakers get Melo
Knicks get Tyreke, Jeremy Lin, Boozer Future Picks
Pelicans get Steve Nash

I'd love to get Hardaway Jr. but the Knicks are already trading Carmelo in this situation, the Lakers should be the one paying us to facilitate, they just don't have the assets to do so. Would Melo make Julius Randle expendable to the Lakers? Cash him in, give us some payment for Tyreke?

He has a no trade clause that he has to waive to make anything happen. It's Lakers/Clippers or bust in his mind. He'd probably take the Bulls too, sounds like he was close to signing with them this offseason.

Put me down as a big no on Melo. Basketball, like any team sport, is about fit as much, if not more, than talent alone. Melo has been on a team with some decent talent, in the shitty East and has nothing to show for it since he's been there.
