But, their search for an elk ended on a positive note two days later when Alyssa took a big 6×4 trophy elk at 375 yards.

Very possible out there. They are sighting in and practicing for 100 yrd shots and the kid could obviously handle a gun.

I think would get pretty emotional too. I also wouldn't have left my 12yo daughter alone out in the wilderness for any amount of time. Good thing she was a good shot, or else some people would be calling for this guys head if it ended badly.

That's sad but true. I had been going hunting on my own for a couple of years by that age and was very capable, but he would get roasted over it no doubt.

Yeah I agree. If it was my son, who happened to be an experienced hunter (not trying to be sexist or say that she had no hunting experience) I would have no problem doing it, probably would have made him go get the shooting sticks and sit my arse down! However, being a girl I think he would have be destroyed.

I saw a panther (not black) on our property in mississippi on our property a few years ago. Scared the crap out of me. Was pretty nervous the next few times i was walking to or from the stand at dark
