Actually we are 5-5 and would have a winning record against a historically championship team. I think we win but it won't be a butt kicking unless we play flawless football and play to our strengths and their weaknesses. It could be a blowout but more likely a 24-21 game. LSU should win and will be a big disappointment if not!!! Hope we prepare Harris and he is ready for action?? I know this everyone's opinion would change if all they were doing was preparing him for this bowl game and he goes off for 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing and we beat ND 49-3!!! Boy the LSU haters and les miles haters would be silenced, then again they would prob complain that we would be in a big bowl game if Harris had played all season lol..... It takes time to run an offense not a gimmick offense where everyone is open every play but one that plays fundamental FB and makes the QB read a defense. If you have a QB that can do this affectively and have a run game, use your entire offense it's impossible to stop!!

I take that back...my fellow LSU fans are far worse. The program has been on a 15 year trajectory that is greater than any time in our history, we've won two of our three national titles in the past 12 seasons and four SEC titles...and to hear our fans you'd think we sucked year in and year out. It's pathetic.

Truly, our current fan base does not deserve the program that has evolved here.

Sad, but true. Doesn't take away from my enjoyment, though. There are miserable people in every population.

Well, except for the guy who sits a few rows behind me that screams "YEAHHH JUST KICK THE FIELD GOAL MILES! KICK THE FIELD GOAL!" if we run the ball and get less than 8-10 yards.

Good Lord some of you guys look for records and stats just to shite on LSU, discredit success and make the program sound worse than what it is.

You do the same thing just to try and make LSU look better than they really are...SO..........

The Tiger Rant: where winning bowl games is a meaningless stat.

Sure, I'd rather win a bowl game than lose one.

There are 38 bowl games (plus one NC game), so that means 76 out of 128 teams are in a bowl. Unless it's one of the upper tier bowls, it just isn't much to hang your hat on.

But this year, most of us only care because it's Notre Dame. If we were playing some other 7-5 team without the name, I wouldn't care much at all.

The LSU Athletic Department put together this summary of the LSU vs Notre Dame rivalry prior to the Sugar Bowl a few years ago. It gives an excellent overview of why this game matters to both schools.

ND has played LSU the most times of any SEC school. ND's next most played rivalry with an SEC team is Alabama and the Irish have a 5-2 record over Bama (and a 4-0 record over Bear Bryant).

As a Notre Dame alum from Louisiana (who supports LSU when they aren't playing the Irish), I can assure you that this rivalry and game means something to true ND fans who understand the history. Plus, this game is important for both teams in setting the stage for success in 2015.

Geaux IRISH!!

Actually it's Tennessee at 8 games. That series is tied at 4-4.

Who cares. It's Notre Dame. They have been irrelevant for longer than a decade now.

How did such an "irrelevant" program play for the nat'l title 2 seasons ago?

Some of you are unbelievable. I guess by your standards you have been happy with LSU football twice in your lifetimes or three for some older ones. How pitiful is that. Might as well be 0-10 vs ND because none of the years LSU won had anything to do with a NC year.

LSU finished #13 in the final AP poll of the '97 season & #3 after 2006 primarily due to dominating ND in bowl games. If you're going to be miserable at the end of every season unless LSU wins the nat'l title, then quit watching LSU FB for the sake of your mental health & those around you.

The only stat I'm worried about is if we win a national championship. If we don't do that I like for us to finally play nebraska ,and beat the dog crap out of them.
