He's back. No one knows where he is going with certainty. "reporters" for AU & USCe both claiming scenarios that will make their respective fan bases feel confident, while simultaneously giving themselves "outs" in the event the "fluid" situation changes.
Facts: Muschamp liked his time at AU. His wife likes AU. AU is the favorite if he goes DC in college, though being the favorite doesn't necessarily mean AU is a lock to get him.

He's already back, he's in northern GA close to family. There's really not any update until he picks or gets a new NFL offer or HC offer somewhere.
Sexton is putting out info this way or the other, creating a frenzy. The longer this goes, the worse for auburn. Doesn't mean SC is lock though, an NFL team could come in with an offer, or who knows, Wisc could offer him the HC gig. Apparently, it's a bigger deal to be a HC at Oregon St than Wisconsin.
