He's obviously still playing ball and might have a gig on T.V waiting for him. (First Take lol), but he seems like a very knowledgeable guy in the sport and I remember a while back he said "I would love to be the first black head coach at LSU." Not sure if he would get the head coaching job, but I'd love to see this guy back and working with the team.

Maybe an assistant to Corey Raymond at first. Can't hurt to have a guy like that around the team.

I could see him coming on as a low level assistant or a recruiting role at first and growing into a great coach

You mean like Kevin Mawae
Probably not
Mawae is not leaving BR area so he doesn't want any other college coaching position other than at LSU

Not sure where Ryan Clark will live but is it LSU or bust for him

LSU would hire someone with collegiate experience before them, not saying it will never happen but he's not going from NFL straight to LSU

Sounds about right he may start off at a local D2 or maybe high school and eventually work his way up but then again Justin Vincent is over player management so Clark could possibly get some resource job and handle small recruiting duties

Just because you play doesn't mean you can coach. I'd rather have good coaches than good ex players.

If this is true, where will he start his coaching career? He surely won't be hired as LSU's defensive backs coach as his first coaching gig.

Chances are that if you played you are more likely to be better coach than someone who has never played. I would like to see a list of coaches who never played football at the college level that have been successful.

Schools 50 years away from having a black head coach
1. Ole Miss
2. Alabama
3. Auburn
4.Florida
6. Georgia
7. Tennessee
8. LSU
9. Arkansas

Hugh Freeze is the only one I can think of.

You could probably start another list of great players who went on to become great coaches.
Spurrier would be one example. Aren't many.
