Can't system update my ipad2

Within the general tab, the system update tab is usually found directly under the about tab. For some reason it isn't there on my iPad or anywhere else for that matter. Any tips or tricks you guys might have to fix this? Thanks

That's weird. Try updating using iTunes from a PC/Mac?
