B-Mac is better at throwing a baseball than you will ever be at anything in your life. I'm not joking about that either.

Actually I did google It AFTER my last post to see if I was right and I don't see anything with #s, not even a prediction of $'s.

He was pretty bad with the d-backs but was excellent at the end of last year after he was traded and sports are all about "what have you done for me lately".

No, sports are about you can be "average" compared to the rest of the top 1% in the world, and that still means you're one of the best to walk the planet relative to Joe Blow and Jane Citizen. Here's your $12 million.

Then I don't understand how you guys can be befuddled at the numbers when the "floor" is so much higher than what regular people make

Google "Brandon McCarthy" and the first article talks about a 4-year, $48 million deal ..

Eta: second one now, on Pinstripe Alley

Sure, but I would bet most of the posters here are better at not having injuries that prevent them from doing their jobs.

Pitching record is a shite stat.

He was solid in Oakland.
Borderline rotation guy in arizona.
really good in NY.

I hate that he isn't staying with the Yankees, but there is a reason they aren't offering 3 years.
