From their Facebook. Been open 50 years...

It comes with great sadness that I have to tell you all that Val's will be closing.
Not long after Hurricane Issac we were approached by FEMA and our parish for them to buy Val's due to excessive flooding through the many years. Brett and I decided to go ahead with it. Tuesday we were contacted and told that it was a definite and a go ahead. We were told that by the end of January beginning of February everything will be complete.

Aw lawd
Seemed they were always underwater.
I made the mistake of going one weekend about 4ish years ago, and they were selling/serving refrigerated boiled crawfish from the night before.
Apparently this is a normal thing for restaurants to do in some parts, but no thank you. I'm not paying a restaurant premium for day old cold crawfish.
I don't even eat my own boil leftover.. I cook with it instead.
Place was dumpy and cowpoke from what I remember, but that can sometimes have charm.

I haven't been there in a long time but their fried shrimp used to be really, really good.
