Les Miles is more than just a coach, glad he is our coach.

I don't always agree with Les Miles but I respect him and I am glad he is our coach. Do I wish he wasn't so stubborn and would quit trying to pound a square peg into a round hole sometimes? Absolutely. Do I wish he could figure out how to develop QB's better than he has and is doing right now? Absolutely.

But when you read things like this it continues to prove to people what kind of man Les Miles is, and as an alumni of LSU I could not be prouder to say he is our Head Coach. Les Miles I salute you!

quote:

But for the Nov. 27 game between LSU and Texas A&M in College Station, Scout came for the pregame and made fast friends with LSU coach Les Miles.
"Les Miles talked to her for, no joke, maybe 30 minutes before the game," said Ponder, 28. "He loves kids and has kids of his own. She spit up and he was wiping her face. He was amazing. I was interviewing him a couple of hours before kickoff and my mom was standing off to the side holding Scout. He comes up to me, points and says, 'Is that your daughter?' I said, 'Yeah.' He said, 'Bring her over. Isn’t this so much better than the job?' He is just one of those coaches that sees the big picture and it was just really cool to talk to [him] about family and having a perspective beyond football."

Nobody here doubts Les isn't a great man. I can't speak for everyone, but many of us here do question his coaching limitations. We wonder why our offense is a struggle almost every year, and how finding a decent QB who can throw slants is so few and far between for us.

Gotta' be honest...having something posted more than once (especially considering the search function is for shite and it was no longer on the front page) has never really been some huge issue for me. If I've seen something posted before, I simply don't click on that link because I've already read it.

Others feel the need to pop in and act like idiots chanting germans or being pissed someone had the gall to bring a topic to the board they thought would interest others.

This is why I want him to succeed so much more than any other coach but he seems to disappointment us every day since Jan 9 2012

I pretty much stated there are times where Miles frustrates the crap out of me. This season is a perfect example of it. The way he has handled the QB situation almost through his entire career at LSU frustrates me. But at the end of the day, other than Saban who is arguably the best coach in college football and when he retires will probably be the best coach to ever coach in college, Miles has done a great job. Could he have done better, I think so. But he still has done a great job at LSU and his record proves that.

If you read some of my posts you will see I will take shots at Miles when I think he has done stupid shite, for example not letting Harris take any snaps against Arky & TAMU is tantamount to wanting to bring him out to a firing squad and letting them have at him. But still Miles has given LSU it's best 10years in it's football history and that is saying a lot!!!!!

Honest question for those of you who agree with this, would you give up asingle win for "style" pints/ Honestly, isnt it enough to win 80% of your games?
And as far as the OP< agreed 100% and it is one of so many special stories we hear about Les..makes me proud..sure he is far from perfect, but he does so many great things and wins too....

So bring on Nevin Shapiro and the boosters at SMU or tattoo-gate etc......

Hell no I don't want crap like that at LSU and having Miles as our HC means that shite will not float at LSU - you can bet on that!!!!

Doesn't mean you have to cheat. Just don't need the nicest guy as our coach. I never see Saban have any good rep like this but he wins.

I wont retroactively judge a FOOTBALL COACH on anything that wouldnt come up proactively in the search for a new coach.

Bad clock management and stubborn commitment to less talented players? Hmmm...BUT HOW IS HE WITH BABIES!?!

He's good with kids. That's great.

How does this help us win football games exactly?

Never seen anyone on this board say he was a bad man. Just not a great coach.
