Many ignored the recent catch share ruling. Most will realize how big it was when we have a 1 day federal season next year.

I applaud Byrne for fighting the good fight but unfortunately I don't think we've hit rock bottom yet.

Everyone should be pissed at this. It's not just fisheries or even wildlife. This crap is going on in every area the federal government can touch.

Exactly. Everyone wants to believe all these stupid damn Obama conspiracy chain emails or Benghazi or whatever. But there is a clear cut example of the federal govt mismanaging and overstepping their bounds right in front of us. They are literally trying to kill offshore recreational fishing. People are crazy if they think this is just about snapper. Next it'll be triggerfish, then grouper and so on.

Without snapper, how many would justify a boat and gear?

It's not just the red snapper. It would still be justifiable.

It's when those fricks continue on down the list of species

I think I'm there myself. What is the penalty if you're caught with a limit out of season?

Not sure. But is it really worth it? I'm all about fillet and release, but that sure is a lot of risk for such a small reward.

Yep. It would just suck to be one of the ones caught. It's a shame when the government makes criminals out of honest (mostly) people for the sake of $.

3 miles for Alabama if memory serves me...

And I don't think the feds recognize LA and MS recently extended 9 mile boundary... Only FL and TX... But I could be wrong
