Anyone follow this?

They are porting a game that was a console game, ported to PC, then ported back to console.

So very meta.

But when people saw the screen and thought the FF7 remake was finally happening....to realize it's a port of a port of a port....

the reaction was priceless

10/10 Trolling Square.

I think a remake will happen one day, but I think it will happen at the end of Square-Enix's lifespan. Interviews with Square (sorry too lazy to look for link) have shown that they believe that once they do a remake, they are publicizing thay are accepting their new games are failing and it would be the end of the company.

I guess an FFVII remake is like a martyrdom grenade on COD:4 when the company is going downhill.

The actual interview says that they will make it once one of the current FF titles surpasses the sales of FF7, then they will do it.

It goes along with what you said though, because I don't think any new FF title will surpass 10 million in sales, but I do think that 15 has a chance since they rebranded it and extended the development time on it. FF13 sold 7 million and it didnt have as much hype as 15, so there is a small chance IMO. I think the darker, futuristic approach is going to help it.

I also think the engine and graphic set will be very similar to FF7 and they could use a lot of what is built towards FF7 remake.

I dont really care anymore. Yes I want to play it if it ever comes out, but 15 looks awesome, and we have Type-0 coming out in March (the best reviewed FF game in a long time) so I'm pretty stoked for this generation.

Well, given the quality of the last few FF games, that event can't be too far away - can it?

Say what you will, but FF13 is the second most selling FF game after FF7

FF7 9.8 million
FF13 6.9 million
FF10 6.2 million

I was a huge fan of squaresoft in the 90s.

now I think that they are a joke.

I don't trust them to produce a re-make of this game, much less anything new that's worth a shite. some of the dialogue in FFXIII was PAINFUL.

Come to think of it, FFX had some real gems too

FF10 crossed 8 million. FF13 is the 4th best selling FF behind 7, 8, and 10.

Although FF13 may have a shot with the PC version doing very well on Steam.
