May I make a suggestion if you are coming to Nashville?

If any of you have never been to an NHL game I strongly suggest getting tickets to the Preds game on December 27 Tickets are usually pretty cheap and even the upper deck seats are good. Nashville does a GREAT job supporting and promoting the Preds. It's always sold out and is a great family atmosphere
They also play December 30th at 7:00 at home against St. Louis. This is a big rival game and these two teams HATE each other.

ETA: They also have all you can eat zones and for $10 or so more you can add all you can drink beer

Purchased Preds-Blues tickets last night. Looking forward to it. It does look like they've got great fan support and an awesome arena.

It is awesome and the fans are great! I suggest walking downtown a few hours before the Preds game to drink and listen to live country music at every bar

Im not going to a hockey game if Im in Nashville. But to hit a few honky tonks and watch some of the best entertainment in the country for free, Im all in.

Nothing like watching and listening to aspiring artists and song writers putting on a show at each pub. My kinda place. And if we find a gal singing 80's music, Im going for two beers at that stop.

December 27th? But the game ain't until Dec 30th. This is the Tiger Rant, not the OT. We're poor.

As an LSU Alum who lived in Nashville for 3 years after graduation I recommend going to the Pred's game as well. Even if you aren't a hockey fan, the games are a blast.

Also, go support Mettenburger and go see the Titan's play the Colts the next day. The Titans consider the Colts a big rival.

No thanks.

How the hell can I see a small arse puck from the upper deck? Thanks for the offer though.

You can see the puck clearly from the rafters.

Hockey games are great

Yes going to a hockey game is much more enjoyable than watching them on TV. You will see the puck, but you will not really care...it is a good time trust me because I felt the same way.

If your into history and have the time check out the Parthenon. It is an exact replica from ancient Greece and the the statue of Athena is huge inside. Three civil war battle sites are within 30 miles of downtown, Nashville, Franklin, and Murfreesboro.

Others have pointed out the good eateries.

The music scene is incredible and it isn't just Country...you can find any type you like with a bit of research and it is all good due to the musicians here. I promise it is difficult to find a bad music venue in Nashville.

If you like antiques and old stuff in general then Franklin or Nolensville are for you.

If you watch the show American Pickers one of their stores is in Nashville and you can see a lot of items they bought on the show in the store

American Pickers place is trash, gimic store, nothing in there really for sale but tshirts.
I would recommend Zanies Comedy Club, national acts

The music scene is good but there are lots of generic country cover bands that play in tourist traps down Broadway. It's been a few years since I've been but I always like going to 3rd & Lindsley, 12th & Porter, Exit/In, or the Ryman.

Also, do not be fooled by the line at Pancake Pantry if you are going out for breakfast/brunch. It's a tourist trap as well. Go to Fido down the road.

Damn. I just looked it up. That sucks for Zach. I hope he can make an offseason recovery.

Robert's Western World and the Station Inn are also worth your time...

The OP is good advice.

For those who have not ever seen a live NHL game in person ... do it.
