Most high level positions are very important and we can't just leave. It isn't like your job man. When you leave early we all just make it a point to pick up after ourselves a little extra that afternoon

I would venture to say most people have used all their vacation days by December 30th

Could have had a pretty big group go to LSUs Bowl.

Houston was easy. 8 PM, leave the day of, arrive at noon drink and tailgate get a hotel for one night and be back home in a little over 24 hours. Same with Memphis and Shreveport. J Ville would have been ok because people are usually off Thur-Sun for new years. Hell even if Nashville was a 8 pm Kickoff you could leave at 6am the day of and make it. Its the worst possible time on the worst possible day for TV rating and attendance. LSU may get a bad rep bc theres no way we have more than 8k fans there. Its a joke. So now I'm throwing a party and tons of people can't even get there till half haha.

I completely agree, working half a day then finding a place in htown to watch the game

May I come to your party in Houston?

Agree completely. I totally don't understand why they would show a game that wasn't on a holiday or a weekend during the day! I don't have that day off and will not get to see much of the game. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!

. It's not that easy. I just started a job and the few vacation days I have accrued so far wont be usedto watch LSU in theMudiccity bowl. I'm taking Dec 26th and Jan. 2nd off for family reasons.

Yeah, some people don't realize that there are those in the professional realm who can't just ditch a day of work to watch a bowl game. As I stated earlier, I am an attorney in another state and I have a duty to my clients and Judges. "Technically," I can come and go from the office as I please but, when others depend on your service, it's not that easy or practical. Especially since we would have just shut down two days for Christmas and are about to shut down another two days for the New Year. Anyway, I've asked my secretary to try and not schedule anything that afternoon so I can sneak out to watch the game, but if something comes up that's more important, I won't have a choice. Many I know in upper management or profesional roles are in the same boat.

Stop your bitching and find a better job that will allow you to take off early

yep

the things you are bitching about...........in the grand scheme of things.............if fricking petty at best.

who gives a frick who watches our game outside LSU/ND folks? worry about something else.

And ummmmmm, recruits wont be in school on Dec. 30th and frankly they are more likely to watch a 2pm game after waking up at 12 noon over a night game when they are at a party being a 17 year old.

furthermore, a bowl game isnt swaying any recruit.

damn you frickers cry so much

Perhaps it is a good bit warmer in Nashville in late December during the day than it is at night, and therefore a much more pleasurable experience for the players, coaches, and fans that go

It's not your birthright to be able to attend (or even watch).every LSU game ever played. If it conflicts with your work, Oh well, that's part of being a grown up. Not that we have too terribly many of those on here. Jesus Christ, what a bunch of miserably whiny counts most of you are.

I agree. We lost so much more than a game that night. Including, as time would tell, the Texas Bowl bid.

You think a 9-3 LSU goes to play 6-6 Texas? They did not choose Arkansas over us, it's a lesser bowl, hence 2 6-6 teams are there.

I'm glad we're not playing that shite show of a team. It's a travesty 6-6 teams even get to go bowling.

You'd be wrong...people don't have a day or two leftover by December, really?

Good lord, all you need is a HALF day.

Then why not on a Sunday afternoon? Or Saturday or holiday? or Even a Monday is better than a Tuesday.

Not claiming it is. The point is that it's bad for a large majority. I have not heard one soul I know personally say this is a good time for them. Every LSU fan whom I know has actually complained about the time this year. The only people I have heard celebrate the slot, or minimize it, are strangers on this board (whom I have never met) who feel invincible behind the security of internet anonymity.

I am going to watch the game. My wife and I have even considered just extending our holiday and traveling to Nashville depending on how things are looking in the office that week; however, we are in the minority of people who can actually do this. I care about what's better for the majority of tiger fans--the ones who have careers that put them in a position to help fund the program; the ones who probably have to work at some point between the holidays because the demands of their jobs require it.

It's an internet message board. What do you expect? The internet is the modern day soap box and it has been very effective for that purpose. No one is making you read their opinions. If you don't like reading "whiny counts" stay off the site. Your birthright does not require you to read and like every post.
