What the hell was he doing at LSU for 3 years?!?

And I know he had a decent junior year, but damn. LSU is where offensive talent goes to die

In a few years, imagine the top 5 or so WRs in the league all being from the SEC.

Green, Julio, ODB, Alshon, and Coop (if he doesn't bust)

I think Coop has about a zero percent chance of being a bust

He's going to be the best receiver in the league.

fwiw beckham finished his 3 year college career with 400 more receiving yards than percy harvin during his 3 year college career

It was nice to finally have a legit QB and offensive coordinator when OB was a junior tho

I think he gets OROY if he keeps it up. He's played 9 games. His 16 game stats at this point would be:

105 recs
1474 yds
11 TDs

Regardless, his stats through 9 games are excellent for a rookie WR.

what does Percy Harvin have to do with this thread?

But you are correct. OBJ did finish with 300+ more yards receiving than Percy. But he did it while playing in more games, with more receptions, and still had less TDs.

Oh, and about 2,000 fewer rushing yards & 20 fewer TDs from scrimmage

1100+ yards and 8 TDs is just decent?

I just thought I'd point it out since you felt the need to take a pot shot at LSU (as a whole) when something nice was said about Beckham.

Criticizing LSU as a place to go for offensive talent seems silly IMO when you look at the offensive players around the league having succes: Beckham, Hill, Bowe, Lafell, Mett, Landry, Blue, and Flynn probably make for a group of offensive skill position players that compare with any college putting a lot of players into the NFL. My perception is that's just the kind of fan you are tho - as soon as something nice is said about a competing school you feel the need to say something negative

yeah, 80 yards/game and single-digit TDs is definitely decent. Not too shabby at all.

Are we arguing about college or pro potential?

that comment obviously was about college. the NFL success shows they have the talent to do a lot more in college and something is holding them back. i mean a bunch of LSU guys are having immediate impact in a vastly superior league

And I'm a Florida fan, so I should know all about offensive talent "dying". Dude took that comment to heart :(

All of the guys coming out and having an impact were impact players at LSU before they left. OB, Bowe, Landry, Mett, Flynn, Hill, Faulk, etc all had very good production their last year at LSU before they jumped to the pros.

It would be nice if LSU was the kind of school where these guys redshirted for their first year and stayed another four years but the money lure for kids coming from less than affluent homes makes that a pretty tough sell. Instead we're seeing them mature on the field and not be close to finished products until they finally leave the program.

I'm hopeful that Leonard Fournette will be a special enough talent to be productive for at least three years, it would be hard to see him staying past his true junior season.
