Just had my first banh mi sandwich for lunch in metairie with a friend and loved it. I will be looking for it in BR, and I have two questions:

1. who has the best in BR?
2. is there any close to mid city/town center?

Dang's has a good one.

I know City Pork does one as a special, but I haven't had it. Otherwise, most of the Vietnamese restaurants in BR are along/near Florida east of Airline.

Is the bread similar to real French bread? Might be on option since I can't get French.

Its pretty much french bread but made with rice flour, so crunchier

They use small French baguettes made by Dong Phuong out in NO East.
