Shouldn't cops write tickets for obstructing the flow of traffic at intersections where there is a temporary yellow flashing light because the traffic light is out and idiots stop for no reason?

No, they are too busy solving really crimes, especially if you are referring to BRPD.

I know the rules of the road but I choose to be extra careful at those lights for my own safety because so many are clueless.

Do you trust lights when they are red or green?

This.
And for people that don't understand that, they are the most dangerous drivers. Those who think they are a "good" driver, but really clueless.

I think a flashing yellow light is to be treated the same as a stop sign .

So, you agree they should be ticketed.

Have to love breaking the law to justify stuff that might happen.

How is stopping "breaking the law"?

I think you should have your license revoked.

Impeding traffic. I don't think you would ever be ticketed for it though. You increase your risk of being rear-ended.

I absolutely slow down because I don't trust that everyone else on the road knows what to do in this situation... I certainly don't stop.

This is what you are supposed to do. Slow and procede with caution.

There is no such thing. I agree that it's aggravating for people to stop at a yellow flashing light, but the premise of this thread is silly.

No such thing as impeding traffic? Weren't they writing tickets in BR for that a while back? The whole "don't block the box" campaign.

No such thing as a law that says a driver can't stop at an intersection and defining that as "impeding traffic".

If you or somebody else can show me proof, I'll stand corrected.

Honestly, I don't know. I have only heard of one impeding traffic ticket written and it wasn't an intersection. Just figured it could fall under disrupting the normal flow of traffic.
