Jesuit - Curtis Observations

Just got home a bit ago from game. I had no dog in this hunt.
1) One of the best games I've seen in person at any level. The two teams just laid it out.
2) The Jesuit crowd was massive.
3) The officiating was pathetic. They had no control of the game. Are these really the best HS refs in the state?
4) We could solve a lot of problems by placing Curtis in the Catholic League. That is where they belong. They would be competitive there. But it would not be the utter domination like they have against the smaller schools.

i can vouch for him, i personally did not witness the game but some of the best football ive ever seen played has been at the high school level. Its the truest form of football. Kids buying into a system, the vast majority knowing that they wont be playing at the next level so they come together to achieve a common goal which is winning a championship. No one is leaving early for a draft nor is anyone abandoning their team mates due to free agency and more money.

I'm not sure how competitive Curtis would be in the Catholic League. I would guess they would be about .500 year in and year out.

They'd change the type of kids they recruit. Within 2-3 years they would dominate the catholic league.

Curtis wouldn't dominate shite in the catholic league. They've lost to St. Aug twice in a row now, Jesuit beat them, and I'm sure Rummel would have too.
You're not playing "playground" teams anymore. You are playing teams with equal talent and good coaching staffs who will not be outmanned.

I was there as well and had no dog in it either (Rummel grad). By high school standards it was the best high school football game I have ever been too. Both teams fought hard and the hitting was impressive. Jesuit D was legit all night. Atmosphere was electric and just a outstanding football game all around. The look on JT face at the end was great. He was riding the refs hard all night and had no answers in offense in the second half. I know he is a veer guy through and through, but he should have thrown alot more. Jesuit dbs were on a island all night and Curtis should have exploited it more. Props to Songy on his game plan. To the douch in this thread who is doubting the intensity of the game, you should have been there before making comments that you have absolutely no clue about.

Jesuit came out inspired by the porno.
Unfair competitive advantage, IMO.

Nah..that would make too much sense. Why not just keep letting them beat up on all the small schools during district play to rack up extra quality points for power rankings?

Look, we're not arrogant. We're just better than you.

But seriously, I think one of every 5 lawyers in NOLA went to Jesuit.

I went to Jesuit and medical school and would never look down on someone based on where they went to school or what they do for a living.

Can we stop with the bullshite labels we put on the schools in this thread. Put that on the ot board. Lets discuss the fricking game. Jesus people. People choose their path and success in life, not fricking what high school you went to.
