Not sure if this is ever discussed on here but John McLaughlin is phenomenal. Does anyone watch? He's funny as hell, very smart and he let's his group speak.

He's an interesting guy to, a former speech writer for Nixon, longtime Pat Buchanan friend ( who got him the job) as well as a former Jesuit priest.

I've watched him forever and really was just thinking how old he is looking but since he's late 80's I guess that's to be expected.

If you don't watch I recommend it. Old school discussions from both sides without melting down into name calling. True discussion which is what the hell this polarized country needs really bad right now.

Wrong!!!

I used to watch the show religiously. Haven't watched it in a decade. So many of the old gang have passed.

He was a Jesuit Priest before he was a talk show host. Just FYI

Do people even watch that show anymore?

It was relevant about 25 years ago not so much
these days.

I still watch it every week

RCP usually has the latest episode in the video section.

Mort, Pat and Ellen are the regulars with 1 guess each week

Yeah I know. I posted that in the OP.

And above I think they still are relevant because at least you can listen to them. It is hard to listen to most any shows with a panel without needed to take a pill.

Long-time fan, although I haven't watched it for a while. Probably the most succinct debate show still around. But, Eleanor is entirely too predictable. She just spouts DNC talking points. My favorite exclamation of hers was soon after the ACA passed, she proudly proclaimed that, "If federal dollars are paying for your health care, then the government has the right to tell you how to live!" Telling.

Well I'm probably one of a few that gets up early to watch the US Farm Report on Saturday mornings.

And to make this thread even more dated I stopped by my mothers today and had a chat, went into one of the old bedrooms and it still had our old rotary phone on the nightstand. No shite.

Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn't salute Jack Germond from that show. One of my all time favorites for cutting through the BS and saying what needed to be said. An old-school Democrat that I admired.

Dana Carvey and SNL used to do send-ups of that show that were hilarious.

Most people don't know that McLaughlin was once a Jesuit priest.

McLaughlin always cut poor Jack off before he could say anything.

"What say you Jack Germond..WRONG"

I understand being ignored. I'm married and have a teenaged daughter.

Me as well. I've got one starting her period and one ending hers. I'm working on elevating my liver enzymes.

But my point was I mentioned him being a Jesuit priest in the OP and again several posts down.

So if President Santorum bans exchange plans from covering contraception, liberals would still accept the argument that federal money comes with federal strings? Somehow I doubt it.

You know it. Eleanor was referring to obesity, but you can see how hypocritical and shortsighted libs are with their legislative morality.

There is a podcast called Left, Right, and Center that I find to be really civilized and interesting and really just a breath of fresh air from the usual talking head BS.

Just in case someone was looking for something new to digest.
