Personal Experiences with famous athletes

Post stories or things you know from interactions you've had with famous athletes.
I don't know/haven't met many. I'm friends with Aaron Craft, if he counts. All the media hype about how great of a person he is is warranted. Before, during, and after he made it big he was and has been a very humble person who treated everyone with a lot of respect.
I also met a few OSU basketball players through hanging out with him. Was funny how around them he tried to talk more "urban", at least early in his career while trying to prove himself. Also, Sullinger couldn't run a mile under 9 minutes upon first arriving at OSU, which I always found hilarious.
Only other experiences I have are meeting some Reds players briefly at bars. Billy Hamilton was star struck at first with all the attention when I saw him early in the MLB season at a bar. Had no idea how to handle it and was cool to talk with. Saw him towards the end of the season and he was with a complete dime piece
Aroldis Chapman could barely say anything in English but dude was a giant and along with his stern face and broken english made him very intimidating.
What stories does the MSB have?

My dad used to be best friends with Lawrence Taylor. I have played golf with him 10+ times. Seemed like a great guy. He was on his way to stay with us in New Orleans and he never got off the plane. That's when he got busted with cocaine back in the day and my dad never spoke to him again. Turns out that was a pretty good decision. tPOS
He plays golf with two gloves on.

Went to the masters with Ben Crenshaw. Nicest dude on the planet.

Some of the nicest:
Archie Manning
O.J. Simpson (this was in the 80's, not kidding, VERY nice guy)
Muhammad Ali- even took a pic of him with his fist in my face- this was in the 80's before he stopped speaking)
Bob Feller
Eric Dickerson (would sign autographs for EVERY person before jumping on the bus after Saints games)
Biggest Jerks:
Joe Montana
Gary Carter
Darryl Strawberry

Partied with Garrett Hartley at Buffalo Wild Wings a week after the Saints won the Super Bowl. He sure does like to drink him.

2004 Sugar Bowl, literally ran into Bo Jackson in the hallway of out hotel before the game. I was 14 at the time, and a friend and I were tossing a football down the hotel hallway and he threw me a pass and I wasn't even looking and ran into a big dude. Helped me up and didn't say a word as he got on the elevator. Later when they showed him on TV I had a bit of a revelation.

you're like that girl in middle/high school that dates the giant a-hole and everyone is like, "hey, that guy sucks, what the frick are you doing?"
but she's like "he's nice to me and that's all that matters"
and then everyone else goes, "but the way that he treats everyone else should tell you about the type of person he is. his interactions with others say a lot about his character and you shouldn't waste your time."
and then she's all "you guys just dont know him like i do. he's the sweetest guy. mind your own business."
and you know where that girl is today? she's dead

A ton of big ten basketball fans hated Aaron Craft, and I never really understood it. Seemed like a good leader, humble, gave it 100%, great student. I have nothing against him.
I shook Tony Canadeo's hand in church once when I was a kid. Had no idea who he was at the time. He was missing part of a finger, I think an injury from the war.
