Looks like the kind that shoot out black spores when you step on them.

Edit:You may have to download the guide on the page, you can't click on the gasteromycetes, which is what that looks like to me. (I'm not a mycologist though)

That's a fungus. Don't step on it or kick it. Use a shovel to cut the top off and toss that shite in the woods

That's why they will keep growing. The spores that eject from those bastards are basically seeds for more bastards.

We used to throw those at each other when we came across one as kids.It's like a dust cloud when it busts.

I always thought they were some type of toadstool.
