Did Quartermans steal to help beat Texas Tech give him unbelievable confidence?

Last year he looked lost and confused as most freshman do. This year it is a complete turnaround. I firmly believe that the steal he made at the end of the TT game was a turning point for him. It was like a huge weight was lifted off of his shoulders. He has great length with his long arms and is a very solid defender. I can now see what Johnny Jones was looking at when he recruited him.

Naw i doubt it was one play. He's been playing more confident all year. He's just parlaying off how he ended last season. Kid is just maturing.

Why don't you ask him? How should we know?

Ha. One steal and the kid's life changes? Don't disrespect him like that.

Big turnaround for TQ this year...shows what a year of experience can do. Makes you wonder if Anthony Jennings has that possibility as well.

I just hope he can continue to contribute the way he has b/c his size/wingspan is a matchup nightmare for guards.

It's not even close to the same thing. Quarterman has always had and shown all the physical skills needed to be a very good college guard. He could handle the ball, has height/length/athleticism, and even last year played above average defense. His problem was playing out of control and making dumb mistakes.
Jennings also makes a ton of dumb mistakes and mental issues. However unlike TQ, Jennings has none of the physical tools. No height/limited athleticism/no arm strength.

This. The TT play was just another step in his maturation process, just as the last three games were huge steps in the Tiger's growing up process as a team. Playing McNeese without Mickey which forced Martin to step up and carry the team, whacking a decent UMass team at home and finding a way to defeat a very good WVU team on the road without playing their best offensively, were all steps in the right direction. Even a close loss last night would have been a plus but the victory sure was nice to see. This team is growing up.
