It wasn't his line. It was Jason Klugh's line from yesterday , that was re-tweeted to Kelly from the Eagles' P.R. Director. The OP should have mentioned that Kelly was joking about the line and the media laughed along with him.

What's with these colleges being so obtuse as to think that a HEAD COACH in the NFL would be chomping at the bit to step down to college?

Come on people, you may be a big deal in the college world, but the NFL is the coaching holy land.
