Tiddles is right. The M&P I bought from him gets carried pretty regularly. The holster takes a good bit more effort to take on and off than the single-clip holster that holds my Kahr CM9. That is the main difference in carrying a double stack vs single stack pistol - the number of J clips the holster has.

Is the Walther CCP basically a single stack PPQ? If so, I would give one a serious look.

How do you like the Kahr CM9? I've never held one before, would be interested in taking a looking at one.

Ive never seen one in person, but it looks to be. A little big shorter barrel, and a little bit shorter in height. 8 round single stack mag.

is one of my bed pistols, probably least favorite 9mm compact pistol because of the,"loading technique", and gay arse Stanley from england that handles their customer service

Love it. Never stops working. It's dirty as shite right now and I fired it at the range to get some rounds through it. Didn't skip a beat. It has relatively soft recoil for the size too. I've fired a Keltec PF9 that was MUCH more uncomfortable to shoot.

Avatiger, I haven't had to worry about the "loading technique" (using the slide release) after about 400 rounds. Mine is well worn though (seen somewhere around 3k rounds).

Forgot to mention...

8 round single stack mag.

Not exactly. A flush fit 6 round mag or a pinky-extended 7 rounder. So 7+1 total is usually how I carry it.

The trigger is a lot like a double action revolver, long but smooth and crisp. Some like it, some hate it. I'd say for it being the smallest reliable 9mm (only behind the POS Diamondback DB9) I can forgive it for having a long trigger pull.

If she plans to carry it yes. If it is not intended to be a carry gun, she will hate shooting it. Tiny 9mms are quite snappy in the recoil department.

My bad, I should have mentioned that I was referring to the Walther CCP, which is an 8 round mag.

So, would a Beretta Px4 Storm be going in the right direction given the above comment? I've never shot one.

I can go full size. I like the CZ75B. I have several 1911's and an HK p30 for myself.

Edit: Sorry, I just realized this is a Conceal Carry post. I'll get outta here with this shite.

Just personal experience:

Kahr CM9 (16oz) works fine, but you need to compare and decide what you criteria you want it to meet. I wanted the smallest 9mm possible for the least amount and settled on it. If you like your pinky finger on a grip, then maybe LC9.......Remember, ounces and inches count here, more than ever.

love these charts......compare your favorite final two, in this format....it helps.

ps, I have changed my mind hundreds of times before I made a decision.
Revolver? I don't do 'em, so that eliminated a large number of subs for me.
Kimber Solo? Too much and too pretty for a concealed handgun. (Plus, for full size, I like Glock, so you know that I don't care about looks when it comes to pistols....I don't show them to other folks and never take them out to admire them; they are tools.)
PM9? It's a cm9 but polygonal (not sure it's necessary for close range) barrel with prettier slide.....300 more than CM9
LC9? too big
LCP? nice for summer but I just wanted one gun and one caliber for all guns.
Glock 26? Great capacity, but too big for my idea of ccw......however, I do carry an extra mag with cm9 and that weight/size may even out.

I used to hate it when I first started looking and the LGS guys would always say that I needed to decide, not them. Now I agree, you need to go to a LGS and handle each one that you like.

Make a top 5 take a few weeks and read up on them.

Eliminate 2 and make a top 3.

Eliminate the 3rd and then spend a good amount of time deciding between the two. If you don't like wasting money, like me, this will suit you well. I don't just go buyin' guns and putting them away......my wife does that with shoes.

What's yall's price on them? I got one for my ex online for like $350 w/o tax and free shipping. All I had to do was pay the $20 FFL

I've been carrying this PPQ, and carried her Shield for a week. Night and day, and IMHO, it mostly had to do with the thickness
