Whats the general consensus of Washington and Chris Peterson after his first season? I'm not sure who they lost and if it was a total rebuilding year. At first glance, it looks like they beat who they were supposed to beat, but were unable to upset anyone.

They finished 8-5 (4-5 in conference):
-Lost by 7 to Stanford
-Rolled by Oregon
-Lost by 14 to ASU
-Lost by 14 to UCLA
-Lost by 1 to Arizona

Myles is a terrible QB. They have 2-3 more wins with even average QB play.

They really botched the Arizona game and should've been a 9-4 with some poor QB play most of the season.

CP is going to have that program competing for conference titles soon. Huge upgrade over Sark.

Absolutely. He was rumored as a candidate for the Aggie job a few years ago. He was my favorite candidate.

Pretty crazy that USC initially went after CP correct? Then they settle for Sark and UW gets CP. What a nice upgrade.

Upgrade over Sark for sure. We improved quite a bit from early in the season. The defense was the 2nd best defense in the Pac-12 during conference play which was encouraging.

We lost our 3-year starting QB in Keith Price, the #1 RB taken in the NFL draft in Bishop Sankey, and the 2nd TE taken in the draft in Austin Seferian-Jenkins. Also Kasen Williams was recovering from an injury and was pretty much useless the entire year. Our offense was in major rebuilding mode.

That pretty much sums it up. With the situation we were in for the Arizona game, we win that 999 times out of 1000. Just happened to get really unlucky that game. With a decent QB, I think we also beat Stanford and ASU.

Once Petersen gets his system and players fully installed, I think he turns the program into a top 15-20 program pretty consistently with a conference title every few years. Next year will probably be a rebuilding year with all of the talent that we will be losing on defense.

That was an absolutely crazy turn of events. Washington has more realistic expectations as a program, and apparently is close to hospital care that the Petersens saw fit for their son. The Washington fans were so pumped when that happened. They didn't even like Sark.

The settling on Sark is absolutely not true. And to compare the two after one year is a bit premature, especially since USC is playing with under 50 scholarships. USC had the best recruiting class in the Pac-12 last year and as of today, has the best one lined up for Feb. What Sark does with it remains to be seen once he can get a full team. But to say that CP is way better than Sark based on this year just doesn't cut it. IMO

He's done a very good job at Washington. They'll be contending in a couple of years.
