I live in Southdowns with some oak branches hanging over the roof. This year, it seems like the acorns are falling and hitting the roof\porch at constant pace throughout the day\night.

I have lived there for about 7 years and cannot recall when I have ever been kept awake with these frickers constantly hitting the roof throughout the night and keeping me awake. Its the part of the roof above my bedroom.

We had a big acorn crop across the state this year. Just ask any deer hunter...

Those acorns are like my ex old lady. They come and they go. A few more weeks or so and the apocalypse will be over.

the tree is actually my neighbors tree. The base of the oak is on his side of the fence but half the branches hang over my bedroom.

Isn't it legal to cut down the branch if it's over your property?

Is it because of animals knocking them off or just they fall off naturally.

Shite we tried to hang out on my porch this weekend and it was raining these lil frickers. A few of my friends were taken out

I think it will be over soon hopefully. I definitely think I have the right to chop down anything on my side of the fence especially if it is hanging over my house.

I think the proper way is to request the neighbor maintain his tree over your property. Do it in writing...

If he doesn't respond or act in a timely manner, you can trim it back to your property line. Or in this case, just cut it back off the roof.

Nonetheless, it is technically the neighbors responsibility.

Try having thousands of these monsters falling on a tin shed in your backyard! I constantly think someone is breaking into it or gunfire is going off.

my problem is crab apples. The dog is eating the frick out of them before I can get them raked up.

There are thousands of them.

Had one fall yesterday on my way home from work and hit my windshield. 60 mph and a huge acorn falling from 50 ft. equals a cracked windshield.
