According to "Rolling Stone", U2's "Songs of Innocence" takes top billing, but who you got at #2, amigos?

That album fricking sucks, couldn't get it off of my iTunes fast enough.
My favorites this year have been Lazaretto by Jack White, The Endless River by Pink Floyd and Metamodern Sounds in Country Music by Sturgill Simpson

I agree with the thread title, only because it's beyond any sort of debate that Singles by Future Islands is #1
For #2? I dunno. War on Drugs is good. That Ought album is awesome. Real Estate album is solid. Aphex Twin. The new Ariel Pink is pretty cool.
Probably War on Drugs though

Everyone here knows that Todd Terje's "It's Album Time" is Top 1 or 2 albums of 2014

I do not understand the love this album gets.
Temples- Sun Structures
Mac DeMarco- Salad Days
TV on the Radio- Seeds
One of these for me.

Is this a purposeful troll by Rolling Stone or has it become just that bad of a publication?

I really like Royal Bloods album.

Your premise is that it has just become a bad publication. Meaning that it was ever anything but.

They hate the south, too.

I wasn't around for it but I heard it was a great magazine in the 60s and 70s

this year has been great for music, so its hard to say what is number 2. number 1 for me is war on drugs.
But number 2?
Future Islands, Parquet courts, real estate, tv on the radio could all be number 2. heck the sunny day in glasgow album is awesome.
