With expectations around 10 or 11 wins every season, we're sitting here at the end of the season with an 8-4 record with losses to Miss St, Auburn, Bama, and Arkansas.

Sites like this... have graded the season an A-. If we didn't lose to Arkansas I could agree with this but it's really like a B+ in my opinion. We didn't have the top talent this season and we had a pretty damn tough schedule. I'm proud of the way we finished and of course would have loved the season to be a bit more magical but with a big bowl win we could really parlay this season into something special next season.

Defense has been the saving grace toward the end of the season. I'll say C+ so far, with a chance at B- or B depending on how we do in the bowl.

All things considered, B.

Really a nice statement on the strength of the program Miles has built. You start a team from scratch, using only career backups and true freshmen, and still finish 8-4 with a couple of impressive victories.
We've seen Auburn and Tennessee, Florida and Georgia, schools you'd consider LSU's equal, go belly-up under that circumstance.

I think he's done just fine, very much better than most. Everyone knew this would likely be a down year and an 8-4 record against a murderous schedule is pretty solid. For those who lost track, Wisconsin finished 10-2.

Yes, Nick Saban is clearly delivering better results even in down years. So he isn't at that level, but then who the hell else is? Plus he seems to run a reasonably clean program and isn't an HR grievance waiting to happen (Nutt, Petrino).

So an A- seems appropriate to me.

C simply because the team as a whole, with the exception of QB improved greatly as the season unfolded

Offense: C+ (One dimensional - excellent at running the football even when everyone knew what was coming - that was impressive!)

Defense: A- (#1 ranked defense in SEC!)

Coaching: B- (waited too long to get Beckwith at middle LB, play calling on offense horrible, prevent defense against Ala. was a joke)

Intangibles: F (losing to Ala. sucked! I was at the game and left so disappointed. We had ZERO positive plays (excluding FG) after recovering fumble with less than 2 minutes remaining). I am very sick and very tired of losing to Alabama every year). Cost us probably shot at SEC West and potential bid for Final 4 in playoffs.....

C+ at best, and that's because of the defense carrying the team.
