Next season Leonard Fournette will be a leader on offense. But my question is will he get 25 carries a game with Derrius Guice and Nick Brossette coming in with Darrell Williams close behind him.

I'm hoping for a super duper up close shot. Or, at the very least, a near shot.

yes, he will be a far shot for winning the Heisman. But will still have a great year.

If he rushes for 1,200 yards AND LSU is one of the top teams in the nation, then he will be in the running.

Honest answer, no.

Williams will be a sophomore and won't just disappear off the depth chart.
Guice is a 5-star and won't show up without guaranteed carries.
Same can be said with Brossette

All those shared carries plus a much less tested offensive line

Look at the insane numbers Gordon and Abdullah are putting up and they'll still lose to Mariotta

NO, but to be fair there is only 1 position that gets a fair shot at at the Heisman.

People are forgetting Ducre too. If he has a good year he will surely have the hype and exposure. ESPN loves LF. I just think an inexperienced o-line and not much passing game will hurt more then anything.

Nope. Miles rotates the RBs. I'd be surprised if any RB under Miles averaged more than 20 carries a game.

And I'm okay rotating the RBs. It's a long, bruising season in the SEC.

Watch how Melvin Gordon fares in the voting this year. That'll tell you a lot more than carries/yards.

I think we get some guys to come here because of this. They know they wont be worn down when its time to go pro.

He'd have to have running, receiving, special team and probably a few passing TDs.

I think Beckham almost broke the all purpose yards record and didnt get a sniff.

Its a QB award now, he'd really stand out, or be the best player on the best team to get an invite.

1,200 yards puts him nowhere near Heisman contention

Disagree... Gordon should win the award this year...

LF has a great shot.. BUT LSU has to promote him right.........

No kidding. Gordon has over 2200 with another game left. That may be good enough for 2nd or 3rd.

actually the less carries the better for him when you think about his professional career

It's more on production than promotion, in my opinion. Playing for LSU and playing in the SEC gives you more spotlight than the majority of other schools in other conferences. Sure, it's tough to beat out a quarterback, but if you rush for 2,000 yards in the SEC, you're getting the trophy no matter who your competition is.

Promotion has ALOT to do with it though... But IMO just get all the yards you can and take your chances.......

I get what you're saying. It's just that playing for a big-time school like LSU and being in the SEC gives you a lot of promotion already.

Think of it this way. Let's say there was no Melvin Gordon this season. Poof. Gone. He doesn't exist. The next top rusher in the country is Tevin Coleman. 2,036 yards rushing at 7.54 yards per pop and 15 TD's. If you did that in the SEC, you would probably win the Heisman unanimously. But, because of where he is, even with those numbers, he probably would finish last or second to last in the voting.
