Before I upgraded, I was able to hold down my thumb on any picture and choose copy, when I went into Tigerdroppings I could choose paste, and it would paste in the exact URL of an image. Now that I have upgraded to the newest OS, it copies the actual image, as opposed to the URL and I am not able to post photos from my phone. Surely I am doing something wrong, what do I need to do?

Think it is an issue in iOS 8. At least it was. Haven't checked in latest update. I know gifs are still messed up. Will only save the frame of the gif, but copy/paste works fine.

TD does some freaky stuff every now and then with the copy/paste/select. Can make it difficult.

When you navigate to the image's page, just highlight and copy the url, not the image.

I am looking for the image's URL, not the page's URL.

Yeah, it doesn't work here either. IPhone 6 on latest iOS. I am not aware of a workaround.

In past iOS, when you held and copied the image, when you selected paste in address bar, the image URL would show up. It doesn't anymore. I would do it in gif threads that took forever to load.

Thank you for posting this! I have the same problem. iOS 8 is the worst piece of shite software that Apple has ever shipped....so many annoying bugs. Their SW quality has gone to shite. fricking assholes. I probably spend the most amount of time on this site and stupid iOS 8 has totally fricked up my work flow. Stupid fricks.

I'm talking about snatching an image from Google images.

Click on over to view image (clicking on the 3 vertical dots at the bottom will show you this) and then you have the image's url in the bar.

Select all/copy

It's how I'm getting around the issue.

you dont get an options menu you when you long hold on the image?

in android you get like 4 options, copy image URL, open image in new tab, etc.

i figured ios would do somethign similar.

Only "Save Image" or "Copy"

"Copy" used to be smart enough to know if I wanted the image or the URL based on "Paste" destination. That's been removed in 8.x

No.

iOS only gives you save or copy choices. Save would dump it to your folder and copy would copy the url for you; well, until the last update.

Maybe it hasn't been removed, instead it's just not as smart?

Is the result the same whether you paste into the message box, or if you press the 'img' button and paste into the pop up box?

Yeah, I think a bug was introduced that stopped the OS from dynamically pasting the image or url. Now it just pastes the image.
