I see many poster saying we finished 7th in total offense in the sec( trying to suggest our offense wasn't that good in 2013), yet fail to realize we dont run a HU so our totals will be low.
2013 LSU OFFENSE.
finished 12th in the ncaa in yards per play
finished 9th in the ncaa in points per play
finished 7th in the ncaa in team passer rating
finished 3rd in the ncaa in passing yards per attempt
finished 3rd in the ncaa passing yards per completion
finished 1st in the ncaa in 3rd down conversion %

BUT WE FINISHED 105TH IN PLAYS PER GAME, which destroys our totals.

It amazes me that this thread is even needed

But, that's the rant for you.

Don't confuse them with facts-it disrupts their narrative.

I have never seen a fan base more set on dismissimg every thing a coach has done in the last decade. Its amazing. Its the most successful decade 10 seasons in lsu history and posters on here are tripping over themselves to diminish it.

Yeah, I mean, I'm definitely disappointed in this season and I'm a bit concerned about the direction of the program at this very moment and feel that Les needs to show more flexibility and ability to adapt the offense to fit our personnel, but...

The lengths people go to discredit EVERYTHING we've accomplished over the last decade is downright laughable.

It's not laughable. It's pitiful.

LSU's ability to convert on 3rd down last year was incredible.

LSU has won a ton of games during Miles tenure. I like the guy and don't want him gone by any stretch.... But....even with winning so many games, all the hairs we have had to rip out our heads along the way is getting old. That, along with an apparent inability to recruit and develope a competent QB is highly frustrating. There will always be tough games that turn Into a grinder. There will be an occasional game here or there where dumb mistakes will cost you. But these things have been happening way too often lately and it's frustrating. With the exception of last season with Mett, this shits getting old. Just get even a half way decent QB on the field for once and this discussion goes away immediately, IMO.

Its laughable that posters act like Bama's offensive situation and lsu's situation were the same coming into this year. BAMA returned their entire skill positions except for KNorwood and their qb Is a 5th year senior.

Its sad. Honestly, those fans dont deserve a great program and they dont understand how hard it is to win just 9 games every year. Thers only 4 programs in all of ncaa that have won 9 games each of tye last 5 years.

we have just had some crazy bad luck, and its part on miles, part out of his hands

RP- too thuggish, but damn that sucked
Zach Lee- had an obscene amount of money thrown at him by the dodgers, probably used us a bit.
Gunner Kiehl- just a dick.

we also have had the rolling people developing QBs
Crowton
Kragthorpe with Parkinson's Disease

I am not trying to make a joke at his expense, but you have to think that Krag was limited by his disease.

Now we have Cam, and he is developing Harris, and Jennings just kinds sucks.

The best coach in cfb ( saban) with the best players (#1 recruiting classes 5 of 6 years) loses to a less talented team EVERY YEAR.

Agree. He has problems projecting talent at the qb position. I thought Cam would help.

If you were a "half way decent qb" would you want to play in this offense ?

Oh I agree with this. But the difference is that the next week, and just about every week thereafter, Bama takes care of business the way they're expected to, with few exceptions. They don't play down to their competition. Even when they're having a not so great game, you rarely get the feeling they're out of it. They "look the part" of a very good football team.
While I can't accurately find the words here, let's just say their mistakes look much more reasonable than ours. Their mistakes are just a part of the game, and they tend to recover from them. Our mistakes appear born of incompetence and stupidity. And I'd say the biggest reason for this is that we have an incompetent QB.....because during the few years we have had decent QB play, we have looked every bit as good.

do you know how many times I've explained it to these blind bastards

All they do is deflect and say 9-3. I don't remember the offense giving up 44 points against UGA and 38 points against Bama. We gave up 27 to Ole Miss, and 27 to Arkansas. We also had our worse rushing defense since the 90s in 2013.

Had we been 4 wide throwing the ball 30+ times a game, sure we would have been even better, but we didn't, so that's that.

I'd certainly think long and hard about it. But in all fairness when we have had a decent QB our offense was pretty damned good. Personally I don't blame Cam or Miles for anything from a game planning viewpoint. I think our QB situation has Cam very limited in his ability to try the things he wants to try. If you wanna blame the coaches for having us in a situation where this is the best we have, then go right ahead. I won't argue that.

Yes because you have talent all around you and it prepares you for nfl offenses and having to play under center.

And I was mostly talking about the frustration even when we win. Like I said, there will be tough games along the way. We just always seem to be stuck in a close game that shouldn't be close at all. These games are fun, and even expected now and then of course.... But we shouldn't be involved in so damned many of these type games due to boneheaded mistakes. And that's my beef. We just seem to have a knack for boneheaded mistakes and shitty QB play.
