If we beat bama and don't come out flat against Arkansas we are talking about heading to Atlanta right now right?

I know it doesn't mean shite, but it's crazy how everything that we needed to happen happened, we just didn't take care of business.

About 6 teams in the SEC could say this. Please move on.

As I've said, almost just there...perennially. UGA west with an aging national title.

I was thinking the same thing.

But to be honest, this team was not ready and that falls on the coaches.

Championship teams start today and you have to chip away at the goal relentlessly everyday. That's the characteristic of consistent champions.

How do you figure that? We would still be sitting here tied with state at 2 losses. They would be limping into the Atlanta next week due to bearing us and owning the tie breaker

in the words of lee Corso...

Not so fast my friend!

bama would also have two losses. And they beat state. So it would be a 3 way tie. And if I remember correctly, we would win based on east opp. record or something.

It was like the 10th tie break rule.

Do you honestly believe we would have beat Arkansas even if we beat Bama? I don't. We were beat up, they were fired up. We might have come out a little less flat and maybe we don't get shutout but I believe Arky still wins and crushes our chances anyway. Best not to look back anyway. Just accept our mediocre program for what it is. Our talent keeps is somewhat relevant but the game is evolving and our league is getting better and better. Our offense is not evolving with the game and we aren't getting better.

I think with a win over Bama, we would of beat Arky. They were demoralized. Going into Fayetteville with an OT loss to Bama was a bad situation. Going in after a very important victory, and the team would of been much better. I think we would of beat arky...

We would have gone, but due to the third tiebreaker:

quote:

A. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams
B. Record of the tied teams within the division
C. Head-to-head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place)

In this case, Ole Miss would be the applicable "team within the division with the best overall record". Since both Alabama and State lost to Ole Miss, we would have won the tiebreaker.

Oh well.

I think we needed Ole Miss to finish with 2 losses as well.......with only LSU, MSU, and Bama, I believe it would have resorted to cross-divisional team records and we would have lost out because Tenn finished higher than KY I believe...

don't be a stupid frick.....back when we were trying to figure out a way for LSU to make Atlanta, many thought the scenario was very possible...as it turned out they were right....unfortunately LSU/zebra blew the Bama game and LSU cashed in their chips mentally from it against Arky.

actually, you cost us the game...you and your uncanny ability to pick LSU wrong on every single fricking game. Seriously......"we can't beat Ole Miss", "we will beat bama", "A&M will roll us with 40 plus points"....

Just shut the frick up already dude, seriously.

I know it, and everyone knows it on this site, but are you really this fricking stupid not to realize the reason they got carved up........and oh btw, I picked Arky to win that game......for the reasons I indicated above....that and the fact Arky had a pretty good team and a week off to prepare....I'm sure you can't quite grasp the impact though.

Seriously, you are one sad, ignorant frick.

Ole miss has 3 losses. We needed a 4 way tie, three way tie and bama still goes.

Thorny is correct. We would have gone based on the three's Ole Miss record. Sucks to be us.
