Playing in the Texas Bowl and beating a Texas team might give some recruits close by another chance to watch LSU play.
So this bowl can help in recruiting, right?

Can't hurt playing in our largest LSU alumni market outside of La. Anytime we play in Houston or Dallas...it's a good thing IMO.

Based on the theory of "there's no such thing as bad publicity"... yes. Name brand exposure never hurts.
Only thing that sucks is that can't do officials to neutral site games, so any recruits we want to see us have to pay their own way.

Not as much as playing in the playoff. Hardly any recruits will be able to go to the game.
