Les Miles, Washington Politicians and Complacency

I was watching the Georgia, Georgia Tech game and Georgia did a fake field goal where the holder taps the ball on the ground and then flips it over his shoulder blindly to the kicker who is running down the left side. It was strangely reminiscent of the ones Les Miles tried in his earlier years.
It made me think about how Les has gotten more conservative as the years roll on and less willing to take chances.
I see a parallel in many Washington politicians. We elect them based on their promises to go in a shake up the system, and at first, they might try. But slowly, they look around at the perks of the job, free meals, chauffeurs, associates to do their bidding, and they get comfortable. This makes them not so eager to stir the pot, but instead to join the good ole boy network.
Unless some type of term limit system is founded, human nature, greed and complacency will always gobble up even the most promising candidates.

quote:You also see a parallel between gays and child molesters, so I guess it makes total sense why you would put in so much work trying to see such a comparison.

This comment says a lot about your miserable self.

I'm trying to think of one exception to your rule. The best I can come up with is Pericles.

I think the 2012 game against bama changed miles. He took a lot of chances thinking his team needed an edge. But none of them worked. And each put the team in a bad spot.
I agree he's been way to conservative lately but it's just been 2 years. I think he'll come back to it next year.

I think 4.3 million a year with a perpetual 5 year rollover contract makes one unwilling to change.

So what you're saying is despite some disappointment in recent years - Washington politicians have the best overall record of anyone ever?

I've already stated what I believe. Money, perks and a stable position breeds complacency.

Spoken like a true politard.
Dude, you're a decent poster sometimes but you argue like a child and put words in people's mouths and put a focus on calling posters perverts every time there's a sexually related story on this board even when the discussion is legit.
