All this talk about bad cops from the left..

...why doesn't the left rally and get a wave of their believers to apply to police academies all over the country and CHANGE the way cops behave. It could be a grass roots effort.
What better way to affect change than jumping in, rolling up your sleeves and getting to WORK.
Do something about it. Stop bitching about how bad it is and get out there and police the progressive and compassionate way you so dearly desire.
But, when a thug reaches for your gun, do not fire. Apologize to him and tell him it's not his fault. The system is against him but you are just there to help. Help him with his homework, help him get a job or three. Teach him some respect. Teach him to be a good father. Teach him about relationships and marriage. Teach him about abstinence and/or safe sex. Teach him to make good decisions. Teach him about personal responsibility. Do not pursue him though. If he won't comply with your wishes, just allow him to disappear back into the community at large. There's no way he'll ever attempt to do that again since you've been so nice to him.
Get busy. Do something real and stopping bitching about it. That's not working.

Not at all. Bad cops should be fired. New cops brought in. Better training for all. Better behavior from the community.
Only one side is being asked to change. I find that strange and an indication that too much work is involved in solving the real problem.
Oh, why not answer the question? Why is it that Rev Al and the rest of those complaining aren't actually doing something productive instead of just screaming stop killing black males.
Oh again, where did I say it was only the left was criticizing the issue?
Is being a cop to hard for those that are "providing" criticism? Why don't they apply to police academies, work their way up, develop better training, get their community to stop slow down their crime rates and you know, affect real change.
What is the complaining going to really do? Not much if they don't step in and help themselves.

It's not just the left, everyone is feeling the overreach. I don't hate cops, but really dislike the power they've been given. There are good stories that come out from time to time though.

There's also the fact that most cops get paid shite but I wouldn't want to suggest that a public servant is underpaid, that makes right wingers get all whiney.

Honestly, the number of folks that want to be cops is really low considering the pay and stress that comes with the job.
Unions make it hard to fire cops, teachers, etc.

We've got 10 openings and they are having trouble recruiting candidates. Starting pay is 60k, end of career is over 100k and it's relatively low stress. It's just not what people grow up idolizing like they used to.

Who do you think is stopping free commerce at malls? Left leaning or right leaning folk? Can you at least answer that if you won't answer why those protesting don't really do something about better policing and personal responsibility.
Again, one side is asking for change without addressing their own needed changes or actually doing something about it.
