Is Jodie Foster's performance in Elysium one of the worst of all time?

She ruined the movie. I thought I was alone on this.

Elysium was one giant steaming pile of shite on the face of mankind. It's hard to pin point one revolting aspect, the noxious smell of its moralizing, the disgusting archetypes of "rich people are bad". Ugh, I hate Elysium.

She is pretty forgettable in Silence of the Lambs.

Moore is a whole different topic. She was terrible in Hannibal. Far weaker than Foster was in Silence.

That doesn't have any bearing on how weak I think Foster was.

She has always bothered me.

I think she played it that way on purpose, for maximum anti-whitey effect. That whole movie was ridiculous. Yeah, all of he he rich white people are going to move into a giant space station, which the poles can actually see from earth. They have great lives and miraculous medical tubes that can cure them even if they're cartoonish nazi archetypes who have had half of their heads blown off. But for some inexplicable reason, only they are allowed to have them.

I have no doubt whatsoever that this stupid movie was the direct result of one of the exposed Obama administration conference calls with entertainment industry people. The Hunger Games is just as bad. Yeah, the rich people are going to make everyone's children fight to the death in gladiatorial combat to appease - um, something or other. The corporations, man!!!

The only movie I can think of her being ok in is Maverick starring Mel Gibson. Her performance in that is still ehh.
