Joining a frat was the best thing I did in college. I met hundreds of people that otherwise I would not have met. Many of them I still keep in touch with today, 25 years later.

Do it.

Ding. Ding. Ding.

Maybe you would enjoy it, maybe not. But the bottom line is you don't HAVE TO be in a frat to make friends and date. It says something about a dude if he needs an army of wingmen and a bathtub full of booze to get a girl...

TKE is the best. Their house was clearly designed by OT baller standards too.

Ronald Reagan was a TKE.

I was in a frat (not as LSU) which won the Greek Cup twice during my tenure and was among the best on campus. I agree that you make friends for life, get top-notch pieces of arse, and have a lot of fun. That being said, the fraternities at my school were much more diverse than from what I've seen at LSU. All the frat boys at LSU look exactly alike: button-up RL polo shirts with the sleeves cuffed, shorts that are too short, Sperrys, and Costas with that lame little wraparound string so that they won't fall off, all topped off with the frat swoosh haircut. No originality at all. That's why I don't recommend LSU's Greek life. Then again, if that description sounds like something like you, then you'd probably fit right in.

LOL, TKE at LSU is pitiful, but they probably have more famous alum than any other frat. Reagan, Elvis, Terry Bradshaw, Big Show, etc.

It's like that all over the South. Bama is even frattier than LSU if we are going by your scale.

Also Bama's frat parties >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LSU (Thanks J Sanders)

You may be right -- the "southern gentleman" fratster look is a code word for "douchebag."

What a fricking terrible day to start this thread.

Mon-Thur? 80 pages.
Thanksgiving Day? 4 pages

Good luck...

If you're going to pay someone a ton of money to haze you, then make it a hot female instead of a bunch of other men.

It's not all that prevalent, frankly, but I came from St. Louis and do not regret having joined. Great way to meet people and have a structured environment for socializing. You don't need to do it if you don't want to, though. Plenty of other opportunities for socializing.

You can do all of that without joining a frat. Any clubs/organizations will suffice.

For an out of state student it works very well in generating an instant "friend group" that will facilitate your early years on campus especially for those who are not really outgoing.

Yea, a Glee Club party is 100% on the same level as a frat party
