Very nice. And whether you are a Christian or not, it's hard to disagree with the guy on this. Race is still a very serous issue on today's society and it's not all about the color of our skin. It's the negativity and sin nature that people have built up on the inside. It's sad and many of us who still see others in a negative light need to change. And the Gospel and the mere fact that we can change is what gives me and others like Ben hope. Great post Ben

I'M ENCOURAGED, because ultimately the problem is not a SKIN problem, it is a SIN problem. SIN is the reason we rebel against authority. SIN is the reason we abuse our authority. SIN is the reason we are racist, prejudiced and lie to cover for our own. SIN is the reason we riot, loot and burn. BUT I'M ENCOURAGED because God has provided a solution for sin through the his son Jesus and with it, a transformed heart and mind. One that's capable of looking past the outward and seeing what's truly important in every human being. The cure for the Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice and Eric Garner tragedies is not education or exposure. It's the Gospel. So, finally, I'M ENCOURAGED because the Gospel gives mankind hope

Love his passion, love his beliefs....but......the people who rioted and believed that Michael Brown is innocent, will never follow the Lord and will always have a misguided agenda. They believe what they want to believe and believe what the agenda is at that time. They do not believe they have sinned. They have justified reasons in their pea brains for doing what they are doing.

I get what he is saying, and it is very close to the truth, sin itself is not the problem though. Belief in sin is the problem.
We know about the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but there is also an Unholy trinity, sin, guilt, and fear. The belief in these 3 little words cause every problem there is.
All anger, violence, and even illness stem from fear, without the belief in sin, guilt and fear would disappear, along with all of the behavior triggered by those nasty emotions.

I shared it. Good read!

The whole post is excellent.
I think his point that, as a black person, even though the verdict might have been the right one, it still FEELS like oppression, was interesting.
But he notes that he can't possibly know what happened that night.
Love Watson.

Anyone else a little ticked that he was worried more about Ferguson than the game on Monday?

Initially, I gotta admit this was my reaction because I thought this was going to be the stereotypical dumbass pro athlete rant.
Everything he said was awesome and well-written, though, so I got over it pretty quickly.

Saw that. It was probably the best post I've seen on the case

I mean, I wouldn't get caught up in all the semantics.

It was top notch until he ruined it at the very end with the "JEEEEEBUS IS LAWD TRUST IN DE LAWD" schtick.

Lololol
You would have a society full of people not caring about what they do and how it affects others. You pretty much have that now. You think those people are rioting because they are thinking about sin? Sure

Guilt is triggered by the belief in sin, guilt is Always projected out.
Once it is projected out, fear sets in, all anger is rooted in fear. You get what you see in this world, actually you get a world, Lol, not a real 1, as there is nothing really outside of you.
What you see outside is simply your state of mind projected out, I wouldn't take it seriously.

This whole thread is dumb. Some little town in Missouri had a community get upset about a jury's decision over a criminal fighting a cop that got shot, and the entire nation including the president are weighing in on it.
The best thing you can do for Bible thumping Jesus freaks and social justice warriors is to just ignore them. All they want is attention and they're never satisfied. Best to just nor engage.

Much better than the Roddy White racist shtick after the Zimmerman trial!
At least he showed common sense (no matter what his views on the case)
