The Feds are required to investigate church fires, I believe. Something Clinton started when a bunch of churches burned back in the 90s in the south. The awkward truth came out (and was promptly ignored) that the vast majority of those fires were set by someone in the church for insurance purposes.
I expect nothing different here.
Eta: the churches which were burned in the South were black churches.

KKK rolled in in full sheetery in the middle of mass mayhem looking to burn a black church while outside travel into Ferguson was restricted.

I know a guy who pastored a small church in Missouri. He was busily stealing from the church and cooking the books while pretending to be a progressive pastor in a relatively rural town (he's white). He invited in a black choir and black preachers and then would paint racist slogans and symbols on the church during the night and talk about how racist the community was to anyone who would listen.
Well, the whole bookkeeping scheme started coming apart so he burned the motherfricker down. Unfortunately, the ATF was mandated to investigate it and they busted his arse.

i'm going to laugh if the pastor trying to get some free publicity ends up leading to a federal investigation and a similar discovery
it would be a legit "keeping it real going wrong" moment
