Yes, historically, there have been many cases where it was much harder for minorities to obtain a quality public education, home loans, business loans, have full inclusion in our military, vote, live in peace marry outside their race, lease homes, you name it...because some people were hell bent on making sure they never got that.
and for us to think that a couple laws that restored folks unalienable rights would change the hearts, minds and feelings of some of the wretched bigots of the past, is ignorant, lazy, asisine, dangerous, and wholly UNAMERICAN because we seek the absolute truth in our great nation.

Sarcasm or not , that is the attitude many people have. "Not me, so why should I care." Apathy for justice is a mental illness.
If you care about uplifting the great ideals and morals of equality and justice in the country, then you would. I would agrue that people that don't want their fellow countrymen to experiences the full plate of our liberties is unpatriotic.
