since anybody can go back and listen to old shite.
not the point, the days of true talent are probably gone because of technology and the Karaoke shows, you'll never see the starving artist slaving away, writing their own music, playing their own instruments, on the road in some shite box van with no heat/ac for 300+ nights a years cutting their teeth in the clubs, really honing their craft, and knowing how to work their audience, now Disney, the internet, and Karaoke does all of that for them

Because autotune is also available live. And I can almost guarantee she uses it, even if she's a great singer.
Nope.
Autotune is available live, but can you honestly tell me that you can't tell when someone is using it or not? It's pretty obvious when its used.
And, I've never once heard her (or TS for that matter) use it.

I can tell if they're using a lot of it.

Not if it is just a modest correction - half step or so.

Means nothing. I will say in Taylor Swift's case, I can usually identify the voice as hers - that means that is probably her - although they may be using the box for minor pitch "centering" to avoid a lot of extra takes. But, if I don't know it's a CU song, she could be any of number of those nameless/faceless pop/country singing gals. The fact she sounds so much like Faith Hill (a notorious AT user) on records - to me - is more of an indictment than an endorsement.

This may just be a product of you not listening to her often. I can tell when CU is on the radio. I think she has a pretty distinctive voice.

A little heads up for the young bucks:
The rail thin, no curves girls that bummed you out in high school and maybe even college are the ones that pop out a couple of kids and are smoke shows in their late 20s or 30s. Having kids gets them good curves.
The girls with the curves in high school and college have a kid and are fat the rest of their lives.

This is incredible wisdom you have chosen to share with the board.

Biggest difference is the eye makeup. The eye makeup from the Idol days until now is the difference. Of course, the hair too but the shadowing under the eye and the eye lashes are the main thing.
