We have the athletes to run a press like Arkansas and it would help our offense and defense. JJ pressed a lot his first year and we overachieved.

You have to have the numbers to do it. Arkansas can play 10-13 deep. Lsu only played 8 guys against Clemson. Fatigue/foul trouble arises with more pressure.

We will be pressing by seasons end, but hopefully it starts early enough for Jones to save the season.

Given, one of the replies on this thread mentioned Arkansas'depth, as opposed to ours, as a reason we don't press; but our 'numerical' depth simply means we need to be tactical using it.

As you mentioned, 'we have the athletes' one couldn't be more correct.
Pressing would make us deeper for our bench players like Epps and especially Quarterman's empirical value skyrockets.
Fast, athletic and especially long players excel in the press; hence LSU must press.

Why?
Jordan Mickey is the perfect center to press. Tall guys usually aren't fast, but Mickey's length helps him block shots and excel at center while remaining fast.
Tim Quarterman- was made for it.
(When one of our starting guards is on the bench we should be pressing)
Epps would be more useful.

If this isn't enough, just close your eyes and imagine the unit we have seen play compete in a year's worth of half-court games with collegiate athletes running solid offenses and making sound decisions.

This, while their PG is holding one hand up to signal the play with the other dribbling the ball; patiently waiting for the play to develop.......no way

Coach Jones tell the boys you want gold teeth in the opponents face when they get off the damn bus
