It really does blow my mind. He's not a perfect QB and he's had his fair share of shitty throws/performances but the amount of hate he gets on this board is insane. It's like the moron LSU fans are so used to hating their QB that they can't turn it off.

I am not one of Drews biggest fans on the season...but he is not to blame for this loss.

He played virtually as flawless as you could based on the pressure he saw all game...if we had gotten half as much push from our DLINE the game would have been a route.

Jimmy Graham's contract is more of a problem. He's a great player but he's not going to be the reason we win any playoff games.

Remember when people used to argue that Graham was better than Gronk? LOL

Drew isn't the problem.

The problem is 3 washed up bums playing in the middle of the line, generally bad and predictable play calling (where was Joe Morgan after the 1st half?), piss poor D-line play thanks to horrible technique (Louis Riddick pointed this out on Twitter, and that speaks to the coaching), shitty drafting across the board since 2006, and the inability to get a free agent linebacker taller than 6'.

Too many strikeouts on free agents and draft picks, and here we are. Break out the booze because we might accidentally end up 1 and done in the playoffs and get a shitty draft pick.

I'm bummed.

I don't see the Saints winning this division this year.

This roster is too weak, and that was before the injuries.

Brees and Graham are not weak, but, take a look at the rest of that roster --- it is WEAK.

I agree that our roster is weak, but I don't believe it's weaker than Atlanta, Carolina, or Tampa. The first two are decimated by injuries. Tampa just stinks.

the linebackers were bullshite in this game.

fricking Hawthorne had an interception in his hands early in the game that could have made a difference.

and their run defense was fricking garbage.

Do the "Drew cost us" guys even watch the game? It's amazing how well he played with that smoking pile of shite we call an offensive line in front of him. Yet again they got man handled all game long and that is the reason we lost. If we had the 09-11 line we would have won that game in a shoot out, despite a defense that is pure embarrassment.

Beating his man down the field. Drew wasn't throwing to him.

Well, time to draft an LSU player for once!

Cooks has looked pretty good this year and should be good in the future, but Saints should have gone offensive line/defense in Round 1 and then Jarvis Landry in Round 2 of the Draft.

Brandin Cooks
10 games, 7 starts
53 receptions, 550 yards, 10.4 yards/recep, 3 TDs
7 rushes, 73 yards, 1 TD
10 punt returns, 35 yards, 3.5 yards/return
1 kickoff return, 12 yards

Jarvis Landry
11 games, 6 starts
49 receptions, 450 yards, 9.2 yards/recep, 5 TDs
2 rushes, -4 yards
19 punt returns, 160 yards, 8.4 yards/return
22 kickoff returns, 675 yards, 30.7 yards/return

We lost by 7 points. Drew threw a INT when they had momentum. I can see the blame.

How is Drew eliminated from any criticism? He has thrown 2 or 3 INT that have led to TDs.

Could have negated their pick 6 if we could have caught ours....that was huge

OP, do you not understand momentum? That pick 6 deflated the team, took the crowd out of it, etc. As shaky as the D played, they were still playing well enough to win that game. I am the biggest Brees supporter, but that game was 100% on him.

shaky? they had the ball on their own 1 yard line then ripped off a 40 yard run on the first play. we left guys wide open. thats "shaky" play?

they were gashed up the middle the ENTIRE game. Brees hurt us with that INT, but did you not see the putrid offensive line play? its amazing he didnt get hurt that game.

The saints need players to make explosive plays with the ball in their hamds. That is not Landry. This is what the saints thought they were getting in Cooks. The saints still need help with this.

Anyone blaming Brees has been spoiled by his near perfection in the past.

These folks are going to be miserable when he retires.

Hawthorne catching a ball that hit him in the hands then walking into the endzone for a touchdown probably would have been a huge momentum swing as well. Don't you think?

Brees is pointed to because he is the captain and makes the most money. He asked for both. All that said, the reason we are bad is not because of his contract. It's a multitude of things. We have too much tied up in players that are vastly underperforming. Evans and Grubbs take up too much cap reserved for the oline and do not play anywhere near a level to justify it. Injuries have hurt the D, but we were screwed at corner regardless. Lewis is a really good one, but without safety help and a pass rush, he might as well not be. Byrd was never going to dominate this year as he missed too much time in training camp and preseason. Takes time to adjust to playing with a team. Vacarro is having one of the worst sophmore slumps I've seen. Jordan is playing like he wants a small contract. Don't have a single difference make at LB.

On top of all of this, we draft about as bad as anyone in the NFL. I swear I am left wondering if they are throwing darts at their big board after round 1. 2013 was a good draft, especially considering we got a LT in round 3 that is probably better than anyone on the line. Other than that our drafts are absolutely abysmal. Like worse than dog shite. If you are going to have a high paid QB on your team, you better be making some solid draft choices. We don't and we are seeing the results now. Hitting on 1 player on average per draft is not going to cut it in the NFL.

Drew gave us a Supwrbowl and countless thrills. We will be forever greatful but it does seem he has entered somewhat of a decline. I wonder if he has lost some arm strength and is trying to do too much to compensate.
