LSU's offense is based on the running game, and that's the real personnel problem. It doesn't matter who plays QB and throws 10 passes nearly as much as who gets the 35 carries in a game. Why is the split between Magee Fournette and Williams equal, it should look more like this:
Fournette: 20
Magee: 12
Williams: 3

The lack of a passing threat inhibits our run game far worse than who's carrying the football.

You have to at least show the defense you are capable of throwing the ball...Otherwise 9 in the box will be guaranteed.

Why are people shitting on Williams. He has run the ball on first down just as well as Fournette. No he doesn't have the 40 yard run but he's certainly capable and he gets a good 4 yards everyone he runs. Let them all split equal. There is no significant drop off from one RB to the next. It's the plays that are run that boggle me. Not the usage

we should also run some sweeps more quick pitches
designed draws Qb runs

We have no creativity in the run game either

When an opposing team doesn't respect your passing game they load the box and make it very difficult to run the ball. Seems pretty simple.

If what you say here is true, then LSU has much bigger problems than personnel.

If LSU's offense is truly based on the running game, it is one of the worst run-based offenses I've ever seen. No creativity. No change-ups. Just the same dives and off-tackles every time.

If you want to see a true run-based offense, look at Auburn recently or Arkansas back in '05 and '06 with Jones and McFadden.

LSU's offense looks more like it's supposed to be a balanced offense except they can't pass.

Do you honestly think teams will scheme LSU significantly differently with Harris at QB instead of Jennings, even with Harris under center LSU is first and foremost a running team with a limited passing game and opponents will continue to stack the box until we prove we can throw it, Harris or Jennings

You have to have a decent passing game to set up the run. At least enough to keep their defense honest. Set up the play action pass.

We're only going to do one of two things:

1. Pass the ball

2. Run the ball

Anybody with a tv knows we don't pass so......

It's not brain surgery.

We have a committee at RB, running the ball is hardly the real problem.

60-70 percent runs leads me to believe that LSU is a running team

Fournette, at least from my point of view, is the best player on the LSU offense and I want to see the rock in his hands as often as possible. Why give it to Williams when you could give it to Fournette. I get that he needs a rest once in a while but he has proven he can handle 20-25 carries with success.

I have an ounce of hope that we will be able to force defenses to respect the pass with Harris at QB. I don't expect that to be the case, but I do believe there is a chance it could happen. There is absolutely 0 hope for this with Jennings at QB. Week in and week out he simply does not improve and IMO is not capable of leading a respectable passing attack in this system. I like his attitude and don't place the blame for his shortcomings on him, but i think it's obvious that our only hope for success lies with Harris.

It actually doesn't, but this is a convenient crutch. Jennings doesn't magically get better in games that we rush successfully.

The receivers probably get open more often with a successful rushing attack though. But no, you're right, it cant make jennings throw it to them more accurately.
