Thanksgiving: amalgamation; familial expansion; pioneering ideology

Hey, Guyz and Galz -- Happy Monday, and Happy Thanksgiving.
My favorite holiday, I refuse to work during this week to allow myself time to reflect upon our successful amalgamation with the natives. In the spirit of the holiday, I thought it would be a great time to discuss the dynamics of expanding families and pioneering ideology.
We all know that some newly-minted Grandparents can be deemed overbearing and subversive, much like some of the Pilgrims were, but I see much of that as unconditional love and knowledgable guidance. In fact, I happen to work with a spirited future Grandmother who is one of the premier thinkers ever born into recorded civilization. For purposes of this discussion, we shall call her Sachem. Aristotle was not on her level; Plato was short-sighted by comparison. Her relationships are quite egalitarian, as you might imagine.
With two financially independent and long-married daughters who are simultaneously pregnant, Sachem did what any proud and pioneering Matriarch would do: she requested a professional, spouse-free maternity photo shoot between her and the daughters. Complete with Sachem's caring fingertips on their baby bumps, held hands, and touching noses in silhouettes -- a lovely touch, indeed -- this beautiful gift to the world would be widely-disseminated and memorialized via social media. An Artist would be commissioned for an oil painting on canvas to be mounted above Sachem's fireplace, much like the teepee drawings from long ago. What an amazing gesture of humility and kindness.
I cannot understand why these ungrateful parents-to-be would be uncomfortable with Sachem's request, but that appears to be the case. Sachem is understandably hurt, and feels betrayed; what can she do to help her lineage recognize the brilliance of her idea?

Threaten to cut inheritance. Or threaten to move in.

She is, but that's not the subject matter here.
I seriously have a coworker who thinks this is a good idea and upon their rejection of the idea, I told her I that I thought her kids were ungrateful to fuel the fire.
