True, but I also remember having 0 points at half time and three turnovers. We were fortunate to only be down 10-0 at half.

i agree completely, but they fought back and made it a game.

Our offense had -9 yards in the 4th quarter and I think maybe 50 yards total in the 2nd half against Bama. We had a total collapse on offense and Mettenberger was sacked 3 straight times and had to crawl off the field toward the end of the game.
i agree completely again.

The offense did put the D in some bad spots, but overall the defense wasn't a great help.

Auburn made natty twice with shitty defenses. Continue your excuses....

Auburn had the #3 offense in the country in 2010.

They had the #7 offense in the country last year.

Their offenses were actually legitimate, and that propelled them to the title game in both years, despite any deficiencies on defense.

The LSU offense last year, however, didn't finish in the top 30, and the passing offense didn't finish in the top 40. Think about that for a second - starting NFL QB, two starting NFL wide receivers...and a passing offense that didn't finish in the top 40.

The offense last year sputtered throughout the season. 17 point against 'Bama...failing to put together drives against Ole Miss's all freshman defense...just 20 points against one of the worst Arkansas teams of all time (until the miraculous last minute drive).

The offense was "great" last year because our offenses have, historically, been absolutely horrific, typically ranking 70th or lower despite the 4 and 5 star players we bring in. Last year, however, we fielded a top 40 offense, and to us, it was a high flying offense. To most other schools, it would have been just another normal offense.

the defense lost 3 games last year

I think the UGA loss was on the D. The offense was awesome in that one.

Ole Miss and Bama were team losses to me. Our offense had major mistakes in both of those games. Hell, against Bama we fumbled away our first two possessions. We weren't consistent or good on either side of the ball in those games.

LSU's offense last year was the same boring arse Playcalling as this year we just had pros to execute it. It wasn't all the defense as cranky jorts is making it out to be

Mett certainly didn't help vs OM, but our D seemed to be on their heels that whole game. BUT they still kept it within 3 even with all the TO's. I gotta give them some credit.

I did forget about the fumble vs Bama too…right at the end zone

It was boring because it was the same run run pass we have come to know. Only difference in last year from this year is we had someone to complete passes

And we still lost 3 games!! We finished 33rd in total offense, 30th in rushing offense, and 43rd in passing offense. I would like numbers better than that. Just top 20 in offense would work

So its always the defenses fault right? Look in the mirror and repeat your own words.

the defense definitely improved throughout the year, but when they needed to make a big play at the end of the game they never came up with it.

Yeah, that might've been the most depressing fumble ever. Our offense looked really good in the first half, but everything changed in the 2nd half.
